Day 1 June 23rd, 2012:
Well, the Adventure is OFFICIALLY started!
We left the house today around 10:30am, and headed west, our goal, San Diego California and a LOT of stops in-between. Today was supposed to be a fairly easy day, and as usual it was not! The traffic across PA, was insane and we lost about 1 ½ hrs of stop and go across the state, along with some strange drivers. The weather was awesome, so awesome the cab AC stopped, which caused us…yes that’s right to stop at a repair shop. A few pounds of Freon, and re-connection of a wire, and we were off again. Like all Dirla adventures, we are off to a start! Michael, finding ways of not helping clean the windshield, and Nicholas and Patty bickering like an old married couple…it is absolutely hysterical to listen too. So after a fairly long day, but not a lot of miles (480), we are here at a KOA in Buckeye, Ohio. Actually the same one we stayed in 2009, when Nicholas sang “Spice Girls” at a Karaoke event…no singing tonight, but swimming already, an awesome meal by Patty, and now some Playstation, and relaxing.
As I like to say, an absolutely BLESSED DAY!!!!!
