West Coast 2009, Day 5

Good morning Family and Friends....Thank you again for taking this journey with us. We all love to read the posts at night and are excited to have you along for the trip.

Yesterday was a pure driving day, and to most they would dread this, however seeing the USA from the comfort of your home is AMAZING and cannot be explained, especially when you are driving through a state so GORGEOUS as Kansas. As many know we have been around in or Bus, and I can now say Kansas is my 2nd favorite state, next to North Dakota. The undulating hills, and mix of farms, woods, and openness is simply breathe taking. The state has a very "warm" feel, and is just so open it goes on forever, but not in a bad way.

Although we did not stop at any, the state is filled with museums, national parks, Eisenhower's Presidential Library (we were going to do this, but it was late), and other little gems.

I am actually looking forward to driving today, so I can experience more of this state. It is not as drastic as ND, but in several spots you can see the Earth curve, which is very cool to see. ND has been the best for that since there are no trees, or obstructions. KS has every combination from evergreens, Douglas furs, pines, to oaks, maples, then farms and mountains.

This is definitely a revist of a state!

Until tomorrow, may you all have a very Blessed day!

P.s. Many of the photos have been taken by Patty, Michael and Nicholas. If you really like them, I took them, if they are Ok quality they took them....Only kidding...The three of them are becoming quite the photographers.

A good supply of great pictures have been taken for the team enjoyment.
I did notice the lack of crew images, perhaps the uprising has not been squashed total. Make a note: Address the crew again let them know the followers want to see them having fun.
Kansas is one of the states where you can actually see Japan if you look hard enough. I am sure the traffic for the traveling machine was light and not many turns were needed to correct direction. (Not much in the way other than property borders affecting the flight path.
Stay the course and watch out for atmosoheric changes that can affect your flight plan. Beware the funnel shaped objects.
