DAY 25 BLOG
Good morning / afternoon from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Yesterday was a short 100 mile drive from the Grand Canyon Railway to the South Rim. After we got settled in we decided to hike a few miles to watch the Sunset over the South rim of the Grand Canyon.
For those that have seen the Grand Canyon you know what I mean…WOW!
For those that have not, Oh My God, it is breathtaking! I thought I could imagine the size, but boy was I wrong. It goes on for miles. Each turn and twist brings a different view and perspective. We only saw a little over a mile of the 13 mile rim, and all of us were speechless. I think the thing that was the most striking was the depth. It is DEEP! The sunset was gorgeous, and was well worth the hike and wait.
The walk back in the DARK, was an experience that none will forget. It was PITCH black and the sky was filled with the Milky Way and billions of stars. The sky was awesome…
Today we will try and get to the North Rim and then a 2 day lay over at Lake Powell.
Until tomorrow, please have a very blessed day!
