DAY 11 BLOG
Good morning from Zion Ponderosa Resort near Zion Canyon in Utah. Yesterday was Day 1 of our 2nd 3 day rest stop (say that 3 times fast)!
We begrudgedly left Bryce canyon yesterday morning. We all felt a little sad, as it was a majestic area to visit. Bryce was one of the most peaceful and tranquil national parks we have visited to date, and could have stayed a few more days. Ruby’s Inn was a little taste of heaven!
The ride to Zion was un-eventful and in some regards a tad boring as the landscape had turned dreary once again. It was a very short 70 mile drive thank goodness, and we decided to come directly to the campground which is 5 miles away from Zion.
After we arrived we decided to do some activities, and during such Michael sprained his knee in an ATV accident. He had to swerve to avoid hitting a baby antelope on the trail. His knee is now wrenched, but he saved the baby…Ok, now that is a big fat lie…he actually twisted his knee it in the pool, but we are working on a good story for the girls he is meeting…you know play the sympathy card!
In all earnest he did twist his knee fairly bad in the pool and is now hobbling around with it in an ace bandage. We will keep an eye on it and if it doesn’t get better we will make our second trip to a hospital…
The “resort” is located on the top of a mountain and could be a phenomenal place, but it is a classic “Mismanagement” and the overall feel of the place is very off. For example the “RV Park” has only 6 sites…Regardless, the Dirla crew will make this another adventure!
Sorry for the late BLOG, but the connectivity here is SO bad…
Well, signing off so until tomorrow…Have a VERY BLESSED day!

Wandering Travelers
ReplyDeleteOn the Road Again, just can't wait to get on the Road Again.....
Well this is a traveling vacation after all.
Good to see you moving on to more adventures. Sorry to here about Michaels little, shall we say accident...? Hope it does not keep him down too much, alothough I can't see that happening with a golf cart for entertainment and dating transportation.
I was really discouraged, as an adopted family member, I did not see Fed-X bringing me a ticket west so I could catch up and join you. Sigh, I guess being there in thought will have to do and I still have to pay bills.
I can't wait till someday if I get to retire, then I can see those wonderful sites too.
Enjoy, STAY HEALTHY (This is a coomand, not a statement.)
