DAY 12 BLOG
Good morning from Zion Ponderosa Resort near Zion Canyon in Utah. Yesterday was Day 2 of our 2nd 3 day rest stop!
For a rest day we actually did a great deal despite Illness and twisted knees…
Nicholas started the day off with a 20 minute ATV ride around a track, then as a family we rented again another Polaris Ranger 6 person ATV and drove 30 mile off road on the outside of ZION canyon. What an experience. When we returned both boys did a Zip line ride. Michael was helped up the stairs than driven back after his run, so it was actually ok for his knee, which by the way is getting stronger and better.
However, the highlight of the day was when we went Skeet shooting with a 12 gauge Shotgun. Both boys did awesome and Nicholas hit 2 of 15 clay pigeons, Michael clipped SEVERAL but never Shattered and I got 1. The boys were floating on cloud nine that they shot a real gun. I have an eerie feeling I will be getting a gun license to start taking them to target practice in the near future. LOL!
We were once again blessed with unbelievable weather and graced with sights beyond words that hopefully you can see through the photos. The scenery and colors are absolutely awesome!
After all the events we ate at the restaurant here at the resort, and WOW, it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The Chef joined us after dinner, and it was a real treat. Today we are driving into and out of Zion to another campground on the other side of the canyon.
Once again sorry for the late BLOG, but the connectivity here is SO bad and we literally have no cell coverage…
Well, signing off so until tomorrow…Have a VERY BLESSED day!

Hello Busy Wanderers
ReplyDeleteWOW, you have been busy. That should help make good memories for the trip. I did not realize it was time to start raising Jr Shootists. Maybe some day in the future the boys will enjoy Pheasent or Grouse hunting. Good to let them practice, just not with Dick CHeney...lol.
I am really bumbed about the tickets (not getting them) now, I haven't been zip lining. Even though I would test the tinsel strength of the line.
I will be heading out tomorow in the AM for Lancaster, so I may be delayed in adding some comments till Sunday.
Stay well, get better (another command) and keep having fun.
Jim
