Good evening / morning Sedona, Arizona
Today has been an interesting day…started by leaving our campsite at 5:30am., to get to a windshield replacement appointment about 15 miles from where we were. After a finding out the job is 48 hours, Patty needed to juggle a few things since now we will be in this area another day while the windshield urethane cures. As you can tell the windshield is a project! The good news is RV-Glass are definitely the experts, and it seems based on the tech Ken, we will have a windshield that is installed correctly. After taking the one that was leaking out, it was apparent God has been over our shoulder…the windshield should have fallen out! The ones who installed it last year really did a poor job, such that the old one came out in one piece, since it was barely “glued” to the body! 1st time ever for the installers to not have a windshield like our not shatter while taking it out…
After a few hours and getting a rental car we headed to Sedona, where Patty had made reservations at a resort on a Creek. However on the way up Michael received a call from his Math Teacher (Dr. Kane, or DK)…Now I need to pause for a moment and speak about DK, and the impact he has had on Michael this school year. Michael has excelled in Math, 100% due to DK motivating Michael and making learning fun. It has truly been a blessing to have DK in our lives! He is what teachers should be. Caring about students and finding out how to enable and empower students to excel. DK..if you are reading this, please note that Patty and I are deeply indebted to you for what you have done this year! THANK YOU.
Ok, so DK called Michael to inform him he received a 5 on his AP testing…this is the highest grade you can get, and we are so very proud! In addition, DK’s class average was a 4.75…darn near perfect in my book, which clearly reflects on him as a teacher, mentor, and friend to the students…so calling him a Math Teacher, seems un-fair…He is so much more!
CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHAEL, DK, AND ALL THE FRIENDS AND STUDENTS OF DK!
Ok, back to the rest of the day. We are at a resort called L’auberge de Sedona. Right on the Oak Creek and at the foothills of all the massive red rock structures that Sedona is famous for. As I said yesterday, it is red, but you cannot understand red until you see a sunset. WOW, absolutely awesome! We climbed a hill (there’s a shock) and were treated to some show of the hills coming alive with color! After the sunset, we had a very hoity toity dinner on the creek. Like always we love to go to high end restaurants and laughing up a storm, and tonight was no different, especially when the Bats started flying around and Nicholas made some raucous…Truly a fantastic day, & night!
Like I say, another BLESSED Day!
Hmmmm...will I get better gas mileage?
